Feature request: Flock browser support

Here's a feature request... is it possible to create a version of Brief for the Flock web browser? (http://www.flock.com/} I'm thinking of switching from Firefox to Flock, but I'd hate to leave Brief behind...

Flock is based on the Firefox engine, so it should be doable, no?

Re: Feature request: Flock browser support

I tried, out of curiosity, adding Brief to Flock by editing the install.rdf file and it worked. Unfortunately I was unable to subscribe to any feed though, since Flock doesn't seem to support Live Bookmarks which Brief relies upon (but I have not tested it thoroughly, so maybe there is a way for Brief to use Flock's own feed system). What I found out though is that Flock has its own built-in aggregator that - if you like Brief - you should feel right at home with. (And it has a very pretty folder pane UI.)

Re: Feature request: Flock browser support

I have no plans to make Brief compatible with Flock, not least because Flock has got a very good reader built-in, which is not dissimilar to Brief.

It should be relatively straightforward to port it, though, if someone was motivated to do it.

creator of Brief

Re: Feature request: Flock browser support

@ingwar - I tried the same and met with the same issue.
@ancestor - I'm aware of Flock's built in aggregator, but it's missing a few features Brief has, most notably a "show only unread" feature. But I understand you don't want to be reinventing the wheel for a relatively trivial issue, for a small fanbase. Thanks for the reply, I'll see if I can't find a happy medium. Keep up the good work!
