Bug: Brief "forgets" which Folders should be opened and closed per default

Hi ancestor,

thanks for the new FF3 compatible version - just in time for the FF3 release. :) However it seems like Brief 1.2 doesn't store correctly, which Feed folders should be opened and which should be closed at startup. Everytime I open a Brief tab, the order of opened and closed folders is set back to. Previous versions of Brief handled this correctly. I've made two screenshots:

This is how it should be and how it looks like, when I close the brief tab:

And this is how brief opens:

Could you please fix this? Thanks in advance.

Re: Bug: Brief "forgets" the status of folders

What's your OS and do you only get this in the middle of using Firefox or between Firefox sessions? Does the Error Console (under the Tools drop-down menu) show anything Brief-related while you use Brief?

Re: Bug: Brief "forgets" the status of folders

Ok, here the facts:

OS: Windows XP SP3
FF: 3.0.1
Brief: 1.2

The problem occurs everytime I close the brief tab, nevertheless I'm in the same FF session or if I start a new session.

I've checked the Error Console, but I haven't found anything that is directly connected to brief. Only some reports about malformed URLs/Headers in one or two RSS Feeds. But I have no clue where to look for other hints.

Re: Bug: Brief "forgets" which Folders should be opened

I'm having a similar issue, but it occurred on multiple computers, using both FF2/Brief1.1 and FF3/Brief1.2. No matter what state I leave my folders in (all expanded, all collapsed, certain ones expanded, etc.) when I open a new Brief tab (same session or new session) my first folder is always expanded and my other folders are all collapsed. I'd really like to just be able to have them all collapsed when I open a Brief tab.

Re: Bug: Brief "forgets" which Folders should be opened

Well, in the meantime I have changed my OS to Vista X64, deleted my brief settings in Firefox Profile, reinstalled Brief and so on, but nothing changed on this unwanted behavior. :(

Any statements from the plugin authors side?

Re: Bug: Brief "forgets" which Folders should be opened

I can't reproduce this problem on my machine but I am going to investigate it more.

Meanwhile, the stopgap solution for you is to create a fresh profile.

Re: Bug: Brief "forgets" which Folders should be opened and ...

So finally and due to my first hollidays for about 7 months, I found time to create a completely new FF profile. But I still get the problem again. Is it possible that it's related to my individual plugin combination or due to my customized appearance for the feed sidebar? I manipulated the .css file to look like older brief versions or IE7's feed tree.

Don't know what else could be the reason...

I've posted a new bug report on this topic here:

Btw. I switched my OS to Vista x64 in the meantime, but without any countable improvement on the issue.
