Hello.
It would be nice, if I can mark all feeds as read that are displayed on 1 page.
Because sometimes I have 7 pages and need a while to read them. If new feeds where added and I'm not finished with reading, it's hard for me to remember the last read feed. Because i must go to the first page and look after this new feeds.
I don't mark every single feed as read, because at the end of reading all new feeds, I mark all as read.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
Honestly I don't see a point with this as you can mark things invidually as read as you browse through feed items in all your feeds.
Just shift your view from All to Unread and then hit the Mark as Read button on each feed item you read (don't hit the Mark All as Read button at the top with the other options).
Unread view will show you all unread items in a feed (but you want all unread items from all feeds, just view the Unread folder instead).
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
I always use unread view.
At the moment a have 258 new feed items. So it's a huge number. :/
It would be nice if a can mark all items as read on one page.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
Then you should probably start learning how to mark individual items as read as you actually read them. In Unread view, you never have to worry about fumbling around where you last left off. Should Brief have updates since you last used it, you can just jump to the last new page of a feed and start there.
That's the beauty of the Unread view feature in the individual feeds. You can read things at your own pace and if you need to stop and quit, you can easily pick back up reading again on the last new pages of feeds.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
I agree on the Guests proposal... it is really nasty to mark each and every entry as read. Because normally you just scan the headlines and click on these you want to read. And then you don't want to click all the rest as read too.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
I am currently pondering introducing an option to automatically mark items as read when they are displayed (as you scroll, for instance). I guess this would solve the problem as well, am I right?

As long as there's an option to be able to turn that off, I'd say that'll work.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
Of course there'll be one, that's why I said "option". :)

Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
I think the option to mark the current page read is a good one.
When I first started using Brief, i think the "mark all as read" used to read "mark current view read" or something like that.
I thought that meant mark what was currently displayed on the page as read. So after quickly scrolling through the first of like seven pages, I hit the button... OOPS now all the remaining 6 pages were now marked read.
It is nice to have a mark "all" as read, but a second button to just mark the current would be very helpful for the way I read feeds.
I like to display 25 entries per page. Then quickly scan to see if anything on the page catches my eye. If not I want to mark them all (all on the page that is) as read, and move on. Marking each individually is kind of a hassle. But if I need to say "get back to work or something" I don't want to mark the pages that I haven't viewed yet as read.
Am I making sense? I will clarify any questions if I can.

Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
NO, marking things as "read" automatically as one scrolls past them would NOT work ... IMHO, of course ;-)
I vote for two (2) options at the top of the feed page, "Mark current page read" and "Mark All read" when there is more than one page, and just show one of them when there is only one page.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
This option would go some way towards beating my Google problem. I monitor Google News with a few keywords and I get scores, sometimes hundreds, of identical items - identical down to the timestamp. I am guessing that Google's format lacks something critical that Brief needs to recognise an existing feed, so every scan it is reloading the same feeds. If I have to live with this, knocking them off a page at a time would make life simpler. At present I have a page length of 1,000 feeds and use an autoscroll to whip down from one block of identical feeds to the next.
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
hi,
is there a solution? I would really love to mark all items at one Page as read. Sometimes i have 400 and more unread items and i have 100 per page. It is a horror for me, when i am at Page 4 and Brief starts updating all my Feeds.
So it would be great if i could mark all 100 items of the first page mark as read and then the items 101 - 200 from page 2 are jumping automatically to page 1. The arrow to Page 2 would be needless!!
Please make a button like this. :/

I would like this feature as well. And i prefer it against the scrolling thing
Re: Feature request: Mark all feeds on 1 page as read
You can do it now by holding Ctrl key while clicking "Mark all as read" button.
