Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this error message? It only comes up in Brief, and clicking the settings button does nothing. I've tried fooling with all the settings in the flash player but there must be something I'm missing. Using latest Firefox on latest mac os. Image here - http://www.bendall.biz/images/error.jpg
Re: Flash player error
I get that a lot too. Would love to have a solution.
Re: Flash player error
Could someone please post a link to a feed exhibiting this problem?

Re: Flash player error
There are alot but boingboing.net gives a particularly large number of this error.
Re: Flash player error
I haven't reproduced this error myself yet, but from the screenshot I can pretty much tell what's going on. It's an unavoidable problem. Notice that most RSS readers don't show embedded Flash objects (such as YouTube videos) at all. Because of problems like this as well as for security reasons, Brief may go that route too.
There are two options:
1. Leave things as they are and show Flash widgets.
Advantages: you can view videos etc. from Brief, without going to the article page.
Disadvantages: occasional errors, some security concerns.
2. Entirely strip Flash objects from the displayed items.
Advantages: no annoying errors, better security
Disadvantages: you have to open the article to view embedded videos.

Re: Flash player error
Well I get like 20 or 30 of these every morning, it's pretty annoying. Actually, the only thing that makes me consider not using Brief anymore - could you make this one of the preferences or something?
Re: Flash player error
I agree, this happens in nearly every single one of my feeds, it makes Brief unusable
Re: Flash player error
I, too, get the Flash problem and appreciate the dilemma about getting rid of it. Could you make it an option? Users could choose whether or not they wanted video stripped out.
Re: Flash player error
me too. i think ill delete this rss. . and i dont watch videos. i just want to read the news and anytime i click on a feed, the error shows up. i cant even close firefox, i have to kill the process. im tired of this.
Re: Flash player error
Does Flashblock (another extension) help? It's designed to keep all Flash content from downloading and playing until you allow what you want to download and play.
Re: Flash player error
that means I have to install another addon and disable it anytime I want to watch a flash animation? tks but no way.
Re: Flash player error
Guest, did you even look at the description of Flashblock's AMO page? Did you visit Flashblock author's website for more information?
Re: Flash player error
Om my computer I got the SAME error, always, many times. :(
