Trash using not clear

Can anyone explain the using / usage of the trash?
There are very often unread items located in it, without getting any notice why they were replaced. I never saw a certain feed entry before but saw it the very first time located in the trash!? I also can't find any options for it. So what is it worth for and how does it really work?

Thanks

Re: Trash using not clear

Trash holds items you and/or Brief send to it so that you can review those items one more time before deciding whether to keep those items or delete them entirely from Brief.

Depending on how you set up Brief's storage caps, Brief can automatically move items that exceed your caps to the Trash every 24 hours. You can also send items to the Trash from your main feeds. Does this answer your question completely?

Re: Trash using not clear

It's setted to "not more than 100 entries per feed" and to a max of 20 days. In my feeds there are not more than about 10 - 15 updates a day.
I would expect older items to be sent to the trash, but not new and unread ones. Especially when there are still a number of already read and old entries within each feed.

Re: Trash using not clear

Is there any news about that topic. The behav is the same in the latest version. I think it depends, that updated feed entires are not recognized as "updated" or even "new", so they get moved to the trash. I would appreciate a special setting for the trash, whether one wants even to delete updated entries or not. When you are using many feeds with updated entires the trash function really sucks at the moment.

It is possible to have a checkbox saying something along the lines of "Do not remove unread items automatically". Although it begs the question: if you can't keep up with reading the items before they are deleted, why don't you increase the limit?
