This has been previously suggested. For now you can use the Library (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) to organize your feeds to be read by Brief.

Yes, I have already done so, but it seems that buit-in forum search failed me.

The fact your suggestion also falls in line with the "Brief should use Firefox's sidebar." suggestion probably doesn't help.
