BUG: Blank left pane, listing of feeds missing until Firefox reload button is clicked (Brief 1.2.3)

I cannot understand why the Brief pane sometimes opens as blank, only showing 3 icons: "Unread", "Bookmarks", and "Trash" icons.

Reproduce as follows:

1. Hide the Brief pane so it looks like this:

2. Close the Brief tab:

3. Launch Brief tab again from the status bar

4. Click the orange triangle to open the Brief pane

Why is the Brief pane empty? It took me some time to realize that I needed to click the browsers refresh button (not the "Check all feeds for updates" button) to see the feed listing in the Brief pane.

Environment:

  • Windows XP
  • Firefox 3.5.3
  • Brief: 1.2.3
  • A whole bunch of other add-ons in Firefox

Note:

I can reproduce this and there are no error messages are listed in the Error Console.  However a new profile with Brief only and a few Live Bookmarks will need to be created to see if the error is truely a Brief bug or if add-on conflicts are happening with Brief in the original profile.  If anyone doesn't want to verify this through trying a new profile, I'll try to get around to truely verifying soon.

I'm using Brief 1.2.3 on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3) Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3. OS is Windows XP SP 3.

Ha! Now that's what I call a bug report! :) Thanks a lot, I can reproduce the problem too. It's gonna be fixed in the next version.
