Update Bug in Version 1.2.4

Ok,
first after I update Brief to 1.2.4 no automatic Update starts. My Settings are so, that every Feed should be update every 15 Min.
Now after two Hours nothing happend. No automatic Update starts. I use Firefox Version 3.5.3.
I checked this Configuration on two different PC's, on both PC's this automatic Update failed.
First PC include only Firefox 3.5.3 with Brief as the one and only Addon, the second PC has more than 20 Addons installed.
Please test this, I go back to Version 1.2.1. This Version is a this time the only new Version for me where the automatic Update works fine for me.

Re: Update Bug in Version 1.2.4

Did you try a new profile with nothing but Brief 1.2.4 and a few Live Bookmarks installed to it?  If you willing to do this test, then monitor the Error Console (Tools > Error Console) while on the new profile testing Brief.  Record any Brief-specific errors and post them here.  If Brief ends up working as it should in the new profile, then something in your original profile is conflicting with Brief.  If Brief doesn't work in the new profile, then there may be bugs.  By the way, what OS are you using?

Re: Update Bug in Version 1.2.4

ok, I try it with a new Profile, it seems to work. But this error Message i get in the Error Console: Warnung: Deklaration erwartet, aber '#ff6600' gefunden.  Übersprungen bis zur nächsten Deklaration
Quelldatei: resource://brief-content/feedview-template.html
Zeile: 0
so, the second thing I don't like at the Version above 1.2.1 is that the refresh Rate is for me personally too slow. I have ca. a littlebit above 100 Feeds,
it took about over 6 Min. to update every folder with Feeds. The Version 1.2.1 is more faster than that. At least 3 or 4 Min only until every Feed is updated.
And my PC is only an Intel Atom with 1,6 Mhz.
So, if had any ideas your welcome to help me to solve this problem

Re: Update Bug in Version 1.2.4

In about:config, modify the following to your liking (values listed in about:config are in milliseconds; 1,000 milliseconds is equal to 1 second):
extensions.brief.update.backgroundFetchDelay - How long Brief spends checking each feed for new items when Brief is closed.
extensions.brief.update.defaultFetchDelay - How long Brief spends checking each feed for new items when Brief is open.

In the latest Brief versions (post 1.2.1), extensions.brief.update.backgroundFetchDelay was upped to 4,000 (4 seconds) and extensions.brief.update.defaultFetchDelay was raised to 2,000 (2 seconds). So tweak those numbers until you get something you like.
